This notice explains what personal data Nippy Index ("we", "us") collects when you use nippyindex.com, why, and what rights you have under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
The data controller for Nippy Index is Nippy Index.
. You can contact us at hello@nippyindex.com.We do not ask for or store names, email addresses or accounts. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising profiling.
Full details of every cookie and browser-storage item we use, and how to control them, are in our Cookie & Storage Policy.
To deliver the page your browser connects to a small number of providers: Cloudflare (hosting), Google (web fonts, and Google Analytics only after you accept), and Cloudflare's cdnjs (the charting and sun/moon calculation libraries). The weather, marine, tidal and sunrise data shown in the tool are fetched by our own server from Open-Meteo, the UK Hydrographic Office (ADMIRALTY) and SunriseSunset.io; these requests are made by us, not directly by your browser.
Analytics data is retained according to the retention period set in our Google Analytics property (between 2 and 14 months). Items stored in your browser remain until you clear them or change your cookie choice. Hosting/security logs are kept only as long as needed for those purposes.
Some providers (such as Google) may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
You have the right to access, correct, erase or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to data portability where applicable. To exercise any of these, email hello@nippyindex.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
We may update this notice from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
